Alexander Cook
B.Mus. Performance & M.A. Musicology, Dalhousie University
With over 15 years of teaching experience, Alexander wrote his 2013 Master's thesis on the nature of groove through Mitch Mitchell's drumming. He draws inspiration from Steve Gadd, Charlie Watts, John Bonham, and David Garibaldi, covering everything from foundational technique to advanced improvisation.

Alexy Guérer
Musical Interpretation (Drums) & Composition, Carleton University
Discovering drums at 13 in Ottawa, Alexy studied Latin and jazz percussion with Jack McGregor before helping establish Carleton's first singer-songwriter program. He forms half of the Montreal duo Hansom Eli with his sister Camille, blending folk, R&B, funk, and indie pop, and also plays guitar and piano.

André Asselin

Starting guitar at 14 and switching to bass at 19, André spans rock, jazz, blues, funk, and Québécois traditional music. He's a founding member of the eclectic Montreal quartet NUTSAK (album "Failed Musician," 2008) and has collaborated with Dave Turner, Jeri Brown, and Paul Dolden across theatre and film.

A McGill Conservatory piano instructor since 1997, Carl earned two music certificates "with great distinction" covering classical theory, ear training, technique, and repertoire. Christian Renaud

Christian won the Francouvertes competition in 2016 with La Famille Ouellette, leading to performances at Osheaga, Festival d'été de Québec, and Le Festif!, plus an appearance on Télé-Québec. He toured with Dumas on the "Cosmologie" tour (2023-2024) and uses Ableton Live in his teaching.

A musician since age six — piano, classical percussion, trumpet, and guitar before focusing on drums — Éloi trained under Mario Roy and Gilbert Fradette. He plays in six active bands across Montreal's indie, jazz, and francophone scenes. With Muhoza, he won first place and the $15,000 SiriusXM Prize at the sold-out 29th Francouvertes finals, then delivered the closing set at the 37th Francos de Montréal. His credits also span two editions of Pop Montreal, Festival de la Poutine, and recordings with Muhoza, Colin Léo, and Chapeaux Pointus.

Jean-Christophe Carette
Bachelor's in Jazz Interpretation, Université de Montréal
Praised for "a strong melodic sense and lyricism reminiscent of Keith Jarrett," Jean-Christophe has performed at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Pop Montreal, and Saguenay Jazz and Blues Festival. He contributed keyboards to Hansom Eli's debut album "Sip" (2024), blending jazz sensibility with pop, soul, and hip-hop.

Jocelyn Pelichet

Teaching for over 20 years across all genres, Jocelyn released two solo neoclassical albums: "Parcelles" (12 original compositions) and "Décembre" (recorded in a heritage Estrie church). Marc Deslandes

Marc studied classical clarinet at UQAM with Martin Carpentier of l'Orchestre Métropolitain and has performed as clarinetist with l'Orchestre Philharmonique Équitable since 2009. With over 15 years of private instruction, he also studied ensemble direction and brings expertise across clarinet, saxophone, flute, trumpet, and bass clarinet.

Marianne Paquin

After fifteen years of classical training, Marianne now spans jazz, pop, and rock, performing solo and with bands on stages including Osheaga. Beyond her performing career, she shares her passion through violin lessons and preschool music workshops for all ages. Performing since age six, Micheline has opened for Claude Dubois, Bruno Pelletier, and Luce Dufault at the Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival. She performs as a solo indie-folk artist and in piano-voice duos, and teaches using Estill vocal techniques customized to each student.

Natalie Grimmett

A coloratura soprano trained at McGill's Schulich School of Music (Master of Music, 2025) and Monash University in Australia, Natalie was named 2022 Opera Scholar of the Year (Opera Scholars Australia) and held the Amelia Joscelyne Memorial Scholarship as a two-year Melba Opera Trust Artist (2022–2023). Recent roles include Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte) with the Institut canadien d'art vocal and Victorian Opera's The Grumpiest Boy in the World. Her recital repertoire ranges from Handel and Mozart to Strauss's Zerbinetta aria and Glière's Concerto for Coloratura Soprano. Patient and creative, she teaches classical and contemporary voice to children and adults alike.

Nicolas Gaudreault

A musician, composer, and sound engineer based in Montreal, Nicolas has been performing and producing across Quebec and internationally for over 10 years. He co-owns Studio Verville, where he works as a recording engineer. Starting electric guitar at age 9, he moves fluidly between traditional and experimental music. As a teacher, he favours an inclusive method that breaks down melodies and chord progressions so students can understand and feel their impact on interpretation.

Rimma Finkelstein
Master's in Classical Music, State Pedagogical University of Minsk
Former Vice Director and violin instructor at a prestigious music school in Minsk, Rimma has been teaching since 1997. Her Montreal students have earned highest distinctions at McGill Conservatory exams, performed at McGill's annual gala concerts, and gone on to the Montreal Philharmonic Orchestra and Dolce Musica Youth Orchestra.

Seán Riley

A multi-instrumentalist performing professionally since 1979, Seán has graced stages at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, toured Europe twice, and played iconic Montreal venues including Biddles, The Yellow Door, and Sofa. He also plays flute, harmonica, and vocals, drawing from influences spanning John Coltrane to Richard Desjardins.

Thomas Bélanger

At 22, Thomas brings youthful energy and technical mastery — self-taught on rock guitar at 13, he auditioned into Saint-Laurent's jazz program at 17 and taught privately for three years. His influences range from Metallica and Pantera to Jeff Beck and Stevie Ray Vaughan, bridging jazz foundations with contemporary rock.

Thomas Viñals-Castonguay
Master's in Lyric Singing (with high distinction), University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna; Conservatoire de musique de Montréal
A native of Quebec City, tenor Thomas Viñals began his vocal studies at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal and continued at the prestigious University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria, where he earned a Master's degree with high distinction. He stands out for his warm, lyrical timbre as well as his musicality and agility in roles such as Ferrando (Così Fan Tutte, Mozart), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte, Mozart), Alfred (Die Fledermaus, Strauss), Prince Charming (Cendrillon, Massenet), Count Almaviva (Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Rossini), and Nemorino (L'elisir d'amore, Donizetti).
In 2021, he was named a laureate of Les Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques and won a place with the Orfeo Foundation, based in Amsterdam. In 2022, he received the prestigious Hnatyshyn Foundation scholarship in the "Classical Vocal Performance" category. In 2023, he joined the Centre de Perfeccionament del Palau de les Arts at the Palau de las Artes in Valencia, Spain, where he made his European stage debut in Verdi's Un ballo in maschera (Servo d'Amelia), Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (Erster Geharnischter, Tamino cover), and Pauline Viardot's Cendrillon (Prince Charming).
Thomas takes a structured pedagogical approach focused on the technical fundamentals of the voice. Convinced that students must first learn to use their instrument properly before singing, he devotes a large part of his lessons to targeted exercises designed to free and develop the voice. As the technical foundations take hold, he guides his students toward repertoire work, drawing on solid expertise and an approach geared toward long-term effectiveness.

Victor Girardin
Double DEC Music & Humanities, Cégep de Saint-Laurent (Jazz Piano, Big Band)
Starting percussion at age 6, Victor performs regularly at Place des Arts with Jazz n' Geek — Canada's only jazz-symphonic video game music orchestra, playing Super Mario, Zelda, and Final Fantasy. He directs Verdun's Jazz Kartel community Big Band and emphasizes improvisation and creativity in his teaching.

Vincent Leclair

After 13 years of classical training, Vincent shifted to jazz piano at CÉGEP de Sherbrooke, then expanded into hip-hop, R&B, and rock. Wei Xi Tang Chen

Zacarie Brassard

Zacarie began piano at 8 and discovered electric guitar at 13, practicing up to 40 hours weekly and winning first prize in the televised talent contest "0 to 1000." He completed dual DECs at Cégep Lionel-Groulx and is now pursuing a Bachelor's in musical writing at Université de Montréal.
