Why this instrument?

Sharpens Timing and Coordination

Drumming demands independence of all four limbs, building exceptional coordination and timing. Research shows drummers develop superior internal timing mechanisms that benefit all aspects of motor control.

Manning & Schutz, Royal Society Open Science, 2016

A Powerful Outlet for Energy and Stress

Drumming provides a physical, rhythmic outlet that reduces stress hormones and increases endorphins. Group drumming studies have shown significant decreases in anxiety and improvements in mood.

Bittman et al., Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine, 2001

Develops Executive Function in Children

The multi-limb coordination and pattern recognition required by drums strengthens working memory, attention control, and cognitive flexibility — key executive function skills for academic success.

Slater et al., Journal of Neuroscience, 2013

Frequently asked questions

Do I need my own drum kit?
No. We have fully equipped drum rooms with professional kits. For home practice, a practice pad is a great affordable option to start.
How old do you have to be to start drums?
Children can start drums around age 5-6. We adjust the kit setup and lesson approach for younger students.
Are the rooms soundproofed?
Yes. Our drum rooms are designed for full-volume playing without disturbing other lessons.
Can I learn to play along with songs?
Definitely. Playing along to recordings is a key part of how we teach drums. You'll be jamming to your favourite songs in no time.
Do you offer percussion lessons beyond the drum kit?
Our lessons focus primarily on drum set. For Latin, African, or orchestral percussion, contact us to check availability.
