At École de musique du Marché, the same one-on-one private lesson format adapts to five paths based on age and goal: children, teens, adults, seniors and audition prep. Every lesson is taught in person in Montreal at 288 rue Jean-Talon Est, a two-minute walk from Jean-Talon metro, in the Villeray, La Petite-Patrie and Rosemont neighbourhoods.

Musical awakening welcomes children from age 3, private lessons begin around age 5 to 6, and adults are welcome at any age — our oldest student is 78. Our 25 teachers cover 17 instruments. Lessons run 30, 45 or 60 minutes ($30, $45 or $60), with a one-time $35 lifetime registration, a 10% discount for seniors, and no contract.

For students working toward a specific goal, we prepare Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) graded exams where they apply — piano, violin and solfège — as well as Québec auditions for cégep or the conservatory. These are two distinct paths, and we point you toward the one that matches your goal.
