What the Research Says

Stronger Executive Function

A 2025 meta-analysis of 46 studies found that music training significantly improves children's inhibitory control, working memory, and cognitive flexibility — the skills behind focus and self-regulation.

Cai et al., Hunan Normal University, 2025

Better Language & Reasoning

Children with 3+ years of instrumental training outperform peers on vocabulary, auditory discrimination, and nonverbal reasoning. Duration of training predicts the size of the advantage.

Forgeard et al., Harvard / Boston College, 2008

Measurable Brain Changes

Just 15 months of piano lessons in early childhood produced visible structural changes in motor and auditory brain regions, correlated with improved fine motor and listening skills.

Hyde et al., McGill / Harvard, 2009

At what age can a child start piano or another instrument? Preschool music welcomes children from age 3 in small groups, through play. Around 5 or 6, a trial lesson shows whether your child is ready for one-on-one private lessons. Voice begins at age 7, in person near Jean-Talon metro.

Common Questions

What's the youngest age you accept?
From age 3 with our Preschool Music program — group classes where children explore sounds, rhythm, and instruments through play. At age 5, we assess readiness for private lessons with a trial lesson. From age 6, private lessons start without issue. Voice lessons begin at age 7.
What if my child wants to quit after a month?
That's exactly why we have no contracts. Try it with zero commitment — most children quickly bond with their instrument and their teacher.
Does my child need their own instrument?
Not at all. We offer a rent-to-own program with no deposit. Your rental payments apply as credit toward the purchase.
How do you keep young kids engaged?
Our teachers are trained to work with children. Lessons blend technique with songs kids love, keeping the experience fun while building real skills.
