Is there a music school in Villeray?
Yes. École de musique du Marché is located at 288 rue Jean-Talon Est, right at Villeray's southern edge, two minutes on foot from Jean-Talon metro. We teach 17 instruments in private lessons, from piano and guitar to voice and violin.
How long does it take to get to the school from Villeray?
Hardly any time at all: the school sits on rue Jean-Talon Est, which borders the south of the neighbourhood. On foot or by bike — including via the Boyer and Christophe-Colomb bike paths — most Villeray residents arrive within minutes. By metro, get off at Jean-Talon station.
From what age do you accept students?
We welcome students from 3 to 99. Musical awakening classes start at age 3, private instrument lessons at age 5, and there is no upper age limit: plenty of adults and seniors take weekly lessons.
Do I have to sign a contract to enrol?
No. You book a trial lesson, then pay for lessons as you go — no contract, no long-term commitment. The $35 registration fee is paid once and stays valid for life. Lessons run 30, 45 or 60 minutes ($30, $45 or $60), seven days a week.
