Seán Riley
Jazz Interpretation, McGill University; Jazz Guitar, Vanier College
A multi-instrumentalist performing professionally since 1979, Seán has graced stages at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, toured Europe twice, and played iconic Montreal venues including Biddles, The Yellow Door, and Sofa. He also plays flute, harmonica, and vocals, drawing from influences spanning John Coltrane to Richard Desjardins.

A McGill Conservatory piano instructor since 1997, Carl earned two music certificates "with great distinction" covering classical theory, ear training, technique, and repertoire. He has performed at Place des Arts as accompanist and soloist, and his teaching since 2009 spans Baroque through modern jazz.

Rimma Finkelstein
Master's in Classical Music, State Pedagogical University of Minsk
Former Vice Director and violin instructor at a prestigious music school in Minsk, Rimma has been teaching since 1997. Her Montreal students have earned highest distinctions at McGill Conservatory exams, performed at McGill's annual gala concerts, and gone on to the Montreal Philharmonic Orchestra and Dolce Musica Youth Orchestra.

Performing since age six, Micheline has opened for Claude Dubois, Bruno Pelletier, and Luce Dufault at the Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival. She performs as a solo indie-folk artist and in piano-voice duos, and teaches using Estill vocal techniques customized to each student.

A versatile composer, pianist, and flutist who began piano at age five. Roxane serves as keyboardist for the progressive metal band Roove and emphasizes creating a fun, caring learning environment tailored to each student's needs.

Alexander Cook
B.Mus. Performance & M.A. Musicology, Dalhousie University
With over 15 years of teaching experience, Alexander wrote his 2013 Master's thesis on the nature of groove through Mitch Mitchell's drumming. He draws inspiration from Steve Gadd, Charlie Watts, John Bonham, and David Garibaldi, covering everything from foundational technique to advanced improvisation.

Alexy Guérer
Musical Interpretation (Drums) & Composition, Carleton University
Discovering drums at 13 in Ottawa, Alexy studied Latin and jazz percussion with Jack McGregor before helping establish Carleton's first singer-songwriter program. He forms half of the Montreal duo Hansom Eli with his sister Camille, blending folk, R&B, funk, and indie pop, and also plays guitar and piano.

André Asselin

Starting guitar at 14 and switching to bass at 19, André spans rock, jazz, blues, funk, and Québécois traditional music. He's a founding member of the eclectic Montreal quartet NUTSAK (album "Failed Musician," 2008) and has collaborated with Dave Turner, Jeri Brown, and Paul Dolden across theatre and film.

Antoine Martin

Christian Renaud

Christian won the Francouvertes competition in 2016 with La Famille Ouellette, leading to performances at Osheaga, Festival d'été de Québec, and Le Festif!, plus an appearance on Télé-Québec. He toured with Dumas on the "Cosmologie" tour (2023-2024) and uses Ableton Live in his teaching.

Thomas Viñals-Castonguay

Trained at both the Conservatoire de Québec (2017, distinction in harmony, counterpoint, and fugue) and the Conservatoire de Montréal under soprano Donna Brown, Thomas also studied French mélodie at France's prestigious Académie Francis Poulenc. His classical foundation in piano and lyric singing extends into jazz and gospel.

Victor Girardin

Starting percussion at age 6, Victor performs regularly at Place des Arts with Jazz n' Geek — Canada's only jazz-symphonic video game music orchestra, playing Super Mario, Zelda, and Final Fantasy. He directs Verdun's Jazz Kartel community Big Band and emphasizes improvisation and creativity in his teaching.

Vincent Leclair

Zacarie Brassard

A finalist in the 32nd edition of Ma Première Place des Arts and recipient of an artistic partnership with Quartier des spectacles at Jardins Gamelin, Geneviève is an established francophone singer-songwriter. She teaches pop, jazz, and soul voice using the Estill method, plus sight-reading, piano accompaniment, and songwriting — welcoming students of all abilities.
